Who we are

The Working Harbor Committee consists of a number of folks who share an interest in New York Harbor, its heritage, its current state and its future. It was started by Peter Stanford, who many years ago launched the South Street Seaport Museum. Individually we are marine operators, landscape architects, writers and designers, marine captains, water taxi and tour boat operators, maritime consultants, historic boats owners and aficionados, real estate agents, waterfront advocates, maritime museum operators, recreational boaters, and many other things in between. For a complete list of our Board of Directors and Steering Committee members, click on the links above. In addition we now have almost 200 general members and the list is growing.

If you'd like to get involved or learn more, or perhaps attend one of our monthly meetings, click on "Join Us Contact Us Support Us" above (or right here).
